PAYROLL STAFF ACCOUNTANT
FULL TIME, SALARY POSITION
Position Summary:
The ideal candidate for the Payroll Staff Accountant position will be able to verify, process, organize and reconcile time and attendance as well as record those events to the general ledger and reconcile payroll related general ledger accounts monthly; this person should be able to work independently and as part of a team. They must be well-organized, detail oriented, and can adapt to our dynamic environment. This position reports directly to the Accounting Manager
Essential Functions:
· Collect and summarize timekeeping information
· Reconcile timekeeping data between the POS system (Brink) and the payroll system (R365) and resolve any issues
· Organize and process both scheduled and interim payroll calculations and disbursements
· Manage the bi-weekly vacation accrual process
· Manage Eselfserve employee groups and manager settings
· Maintain accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions
· Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances
· Maintain historical records by organizing and managing documentation
· Protect organization value by keeping information confidential
· Drive improvements to the design and execution of financial controls within our corporate office and field operations
· Assist in month end closing and reconciliation process
· Create, analyze, and distribute financial reports
· Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices
· Organize and manage Petty Cash Disbursements
· Organize and manage weekly office deposit
· Serve as a critical support link between human resources and payroll for tracking of payroll issues including:
o Resolving pay card issues
o Assisting with onboarding issues
o Correcting employee demographics
o Assisting with employee department and store transfers
o Employee vacation and sick leave accrual issues and policy changes
o Coordinating with the benefits specialist to track/update employee benefit plan deductions
· Assist with other projects as needed
Qualifications/Requirements (Education/Training/Experience/Abilities:
· Degree in accounting or finance preferred
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with experience in general ledger accounting software and reporting tools, preferably with Restaurant365
· Knowledge of Restaurants a plus
· Candidate must be motivated, well organized, detail-oriented, and able to get results in a fast-paced environment
· Excellent written and oral communication skills required
· Candidate must be a team player and demonstrate strong analytical abilities and a positive, can-do mentality
· Must be able to pass a background check

· Must be able to occasionally stand/walk for extended periods of time
· Must be able to sit for extended periods of time
· Must be able to talk and hear
· Must be able to climb, bend and stoop
· Must be able to lift/move up to 25 pounds unassisted
· Must be able to type and look at a computer screen for extended periods of time
· Must be able to tolerate a reasonable amount of stress. Ability to multitask and work under stressful conditions in a quick service restaurant environment
· Must be able to handle difficult and/or sensitive situations using tactful, appropriate, and effective communication
