- Prepare and post journal entries
- Perform month-end close activities in accordance with established timelines
- Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies timely
- Maintain accurate supporting schedules and documentation
- Perform month-over-month and year-over-year variance analysis
- Analyze actuals vs. budget and forecast
- Identify unusual fluctuations and explain drivers clearly
- Support management with financial insights and analysis
- Manage fixed asset schedules and depreciation
- Evaluate capitalization vs. expense decisions
- Record asset additions, disposals, and transfers
- Maintain multi-location asset tracking
- Manage gift card accounting and liability reconciliations
- Review refunds, chargebacks, and charge-offs
- Reconcile merchant and clearing accounts
- Ensure accurate revenue and liability recognition
- Support personal property tax filings
- Track and manage business licenses and health permits
- Maintain compliance calendars and deadlines
- Assist with audits and regulatory inquiries
- Maintain documentation and audit-ready workpapers
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting policies
- Partner with operations and leadership to resolve issues
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is preferred, along with 3 years of related work experience
- Strong general ledger and reconciliation experience
- vLookups -Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, vLookups, reconciliation tools)
- Knowledge of R365 Restaurant, or other integrated GL software
- Candidate must be motivated, well organized, detail-oriented, and able to get results in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and oral communication skills required
- Understanding of applicable regulations and standards
- Multi-location retail, restaurant, or hospitality experience
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines independently
- Clear communicator with both finance and non-finance teams
- Candidate must be a team player and demonstrate strong analytical abilities and a positive, can-do mentality
- Cross-functional collaboration with operations and payroll
- Ability to multitask and work under stressful conditions in a quick service restaurant environment, dealing with customers and other employees.
